Born in London, Penny gained an honours degree at Oxford Brookes University. Here she studied psychology in one of her modules and volunteered in many clinical experiments for the University of Oxford Psychology department, and the Warneford Hospital. Although working predominantly for the media and in IT, she has always held a strong belief in getting people to realise their own potential. After several major life changing events, which she helped to overcome using hypnotherapy, (A phobia of driving left her reliant on others for over 13 years, now she finds driving fun and enjoyable). Penny went travelling to many far-flung parts of the world, such as the Mojave Desert in California and New Zealand before returning to settle in the South West. She later ran a meditation group in Bristol, to explore areas of spirituality, and this spurred her on to study hypnotherapy and psychotherapy under the Clifton Practice in Bristol. She has attained her Diploma in Hypnotherapy (DHP), Cognitive behaviour therapy for hypnotherapists (CBT (Hyp)) and has recently furthered her education by passing Solutions focused brief therapy for hypnotherapists SFBT(Hyp) all NVQ IV, and is currently training to be a supervisor. She currently works from a variety of clinics in North Somerset and South Bristol, and is a member of various networking groups in the region, and also is a registered member of the national council for hypnotherapy and the UKASFP. |
